Sergio Pizzini coordinated at the European level the Nanophoto Project within the 6th FW.
This Project dealt with the modellization and experimental
exploitation of a process for the deposition of thin films of nanocrystalline
silicon using the Low Energy Plasma enhanced CVD technique.
This Project was considered by the Commission one of the best and successful Research projects of the 6th FW.
He is member of the MRS and of the
E-MRS and of the Scientific Committee of the
GADEST Conferences. He has served as Program Co-Chairman of the Gadest 2007 Conference and
as Symposium Co-Chairman of the
E-MRS 2008
and 2010 Symposia on Advanced Silicon
Materials. He has also served as Session Chairman at the 25th European PV
Conference hold in Valencia and as Chairman of the Session on Crystalline
Silicon at the LCES 2011 World Conference hold in Dalian (China), October
2011. He was invited to give a plenary lecture at the ICAM 2011
International Conference hold in Coimbatore (India) December 12-16 (2011).
Presently he is R&D consultant in the field of materials for the PV industry and is associated to the INOVA Lab (Padova-Italy).
